Key Responsibilities

  • •Create dissimilar cost estimates for purchased parts—especially electronics and mechanics—using dedicated Should Cost software tools.
  • •Challenge solution, quotes, and active projects according to cost engineering/should-cost/product convention processes to guide competitiveness levers.
  • •Run supplier workshops and support transformation of subcontractor consultations through audit-style analysis.
  • •Support and challenge teams implementing Conception à Coût Objectif (CCO) / Design To Cost (DTC) approaches.
  • •Lead cost engineering initiatives with suppliers and product convention activities to evaluate and reduce recurring (RC) and non-recurring (NRC) costs while sharing knowledge within the Cost Office network.

Key Requirements

  • •Master 2 (BAC+5) from an engineering school or university background in hardware, or equivalent experience in cost competitiveness and industrial challenge.
  • •At least 10 years of experience with strong understanding of system and product architectures.
  • •Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronics and mechanics, with experience across development, industrialization and/or production of industrial products with competitiveness focus.
  • •Proven ability to perform dissimilar (should) cost estimations using analytical/parametric tools such as Techniquote, True Planning, Seer-Galorath, or “A priori”.
  • •Ability to lead cost reduction initiatives and participate in Design To Cost / Conception à Coût Objectif, including running supplier workshops.
