Job Summary

Lead and deliver complex traffic engineering projects across NY offices (Valhalla, NYC, Buffalo, Troy) with a focus on leadership, client satisfaction, and technical excellence. Manage multi-disciplinary teams, guide proposals and budgets, mentor staff, and grow the Traffic Engineering practice while collaborating with state and regional agencies to improve mobility and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the delivery and execution of project scope, objectives, and requirements, ensuring collaboration with clients and stakeholders; identify, assess, and mitigate risks; ensure deliverables meet quality standards; manage version controls and track resolutions; present progress using dashboards.
•Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and relevant standards.
•Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including staff, sub-consultants, contractors, and vendors; foster trust, transparency, and accountability.
•Coordinate with internal and external partners, including cross-discipline teams and government agencies (DOTs), and stakeholders; manage contracts and vendor performance.
•Contribute to development of technical proposals, scopes of work, budgeting, and support growth of the Traffic Engineering, Safety and ITS practice across New York.

Salary: USD 139,800 - 249,150 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
•12+ years of progressive experience in traffic, ITS, & safety planning, analysis, and design.
•Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, or another state and able to obtain reciprocity in New York State within 6 months of hire. PTOE certification (highly preferred).
•Proven experience managing complex projects with budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
•Proven experience with NYSDOT, MTA, and other regional agencies.
