Job Summary

Lead the Claims Platform team within the insurance group, owning the “claim stack” that connects outbound claim submission, payer/clearinghouse responses, and recorded outcomes. Co-own the roadmap with product to improve reliability and correctness of claims processing, including ERA handling and SLAs. Partner cross-functionally across insurance and adjacent teams to keep systems coherent, manage incident response and on-call health, and remain an active technical contributor through design reviews and code.

Key Responsibilities

•Hire, grow, and set the culture for an engineering team owning the Claims Platform.
•Co-own the Claims Platform roadmap and partner with PM on the claims lifecycle/status model and filing/refiling APIs.
•Drive technical direction for reliability targets and architectural decisions, including migrating ERA processing from Celery to Temporal.
•Manage cross-functional delivery across the insurance group and adjacent teams to keep the system coherent (including Project Switchboard handoffs).
•Own operational health: incident response, on-call sustainability, and planning/ship predictably through high-stakes moments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 222,800 - 278,500 annually

•3–5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with strong design review and PR-reading habits.
•2+ years of experience managing engineers, including scaling teams or transitioning from tech lead scope.
•Experience building systems other teams depend on (services, APIs, pipelines, or third-party integrations) at meaningful scale.
•Comfort treating reliability as a feature by evaluating failure modes and designing for correctness.
•Able to give direct, kind feedback and contribute actively as a technical engineering manager.
