Job Summary

Own and evolve the HR ontology that structures skills, roles, qualifications, and related concepts powering intelligent search and candidate-to-role matching. Design ontology architecture and semantic relationships, maintain governance workflows, and identify gaps or ambiguities through continuous monitoring of internal and external data. Partner with Data Science on NLP and ML/LLM improvements and collaborate with Product to ensure the ontology supports UI/UX while mapping internal terms to global standards.

Job Function: Data Science & Machine Learning

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and extend a multi-faceted HR-domain ontology including relationships between roles, skills, and qualifications.
•Define semantic relationships (e.g., Parent-Child, Canonical-Alternative, Related-To) to support candidate-to-role matching.
•Act as “Editor-in-Chief” for ontology curation and governance, including term request workflows, audits, and lifecycle management.
•Collaborate with Data Science to apply NLP and ML/LLM technologies to improve the ontology and with Product Owners to support UI/UX.
•Monitor internal and external sources to identify missing or ambiguous concepts and manage stakeholder expectations and roadmap inputs.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of taxonomy and ontology principles, including facets, hierarchies, semantic relationships, and classes/sub-classes.
•Ability to model complex relationships and define inclusion/exclusion criteria for terms to keep the dataset clean and non-redundant.
•Basic to intermediate SQL skills for querying databases.
•Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools for manipulating and analyzing large term lists.
•Bachelor’s or Master’s in a structured-logic/information-organization field (e.g., Library/Information Science, Linguistics, Computer Science, Philosophy), or equivalent professional experience building and managing taxonomies/ontologies.
