Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with payment and product partnerships teams to build, manage, and grow strategic relationships with card networks, payment methods, financial institutions, and technology partners.
  • •Structure, draft, and negotiate strategic infrastructure partnership agreements to enable and optimize payments and financial products across North America and Latin America markets.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure partner deals align with Adyen regulatory positions and support product development, market expansion, and commercial objectives.
  • •Counsel stakeholders on operation and interpretation of partner agreements, including scheme/network/operating rules and ecosystem interdependencies and related risks/opportunities.
  • •Stay current on applicable laws and scheme/network rules affecting bank-partner relationships, outsourcing, privacy, data security, consumer protection, and marketing.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years as a practicing lawyer across in-house and law firm roles, with significant experience handling transactions for financial institutions or technology companies.
  • •Experience with financial services partnership transactions where regulated financial institutions collaborate to stand up and run unified financial products/services (payments, credit, or lending preferred).
  • •Strong contract generalist skills across disciplines such as contract, regulatory, IP, and privacy, with excellent drafting and lead negotiation ability.
  • •Excellent English communication skills, including translating complex legal concepts for technical and non-lawyer teams.
  • •Ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities under tight deadlines; Spanish or Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
