Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate paving and groundwork equipment (e.g., asphalt paver, screed, rollers, distributors, loaders) to control material flow and depths.
  • •Perform minor servicing and maintenance; inspect and clean equipment or report malfunctions to supervisors.
  • •Carry out paving-related tasks such as cutting/breaking pavement, driving guardrail posts, and driving/operating curbing machines.
  • •Set up and tear down equipment and support site needs including truck dumping coordination, traffic control, and expansion joint/crack routing tasks.
  • •Fill tanks/hoppers, install dies/cutters/extensions onto screeds, and regulate screed temperatures and asphalt flow rates.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate equipment safely and efficiently in a construction environment under varying conditions.

  • •Maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements, including CDL Class A and/or B with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
