Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning, engines, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and more.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using tools such as handheld computers and pressure gauges, and road test vehicles as needed.
  • •Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • •Document work on Repair Orders (RO) and complete DOT and other forms accurately and timely; comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as further degree/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card (or be able to take a DOT physical if the card has 4 months or less remaining).
