Job Summary

Develop, deploy, and support mainframe-based applications by coordinating with clients and IT teams to analyze requests, design changes, and create specifications. Participate across the system development life cycle (waterfall/agile), prepare unit and integration test plans, and perform thorough problem analysis with documented resolution options. Serve as a mentor and go-to resource, lead smaller projects, and maintain user and operational documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate with clients and IT personnel to analyze system requests and develop specifications for new development or maintenance of mainframe-based applications.
•Adhere to System Development Life Cycle standards, including preparing project-related documents as requested by the Project Manager.
•Make program design changes and prepare unit and integration test plans, including performing testing in cooperation with others.
•Conduct problem analysis for technical system and application programs and document findings with proposed resolution alternatives.
•Support production with some on-call responsibilities as needed, communicate effectively, and prepare user and operational documentation; serve as project lead/mentor for smaller projects as needed.

Key Requirements

•8+ years experience performing system development and support for mainframe-based applications.
•Proven experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
•Proven ability to work with clients to develop system solutions for business needs.
•Mastery of mainframe development tools including COBOL, Easytrieve, CICS, VSAM, and VSE/DOS.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
