Job Summary

Lead the technical vision for an animated feature film at Netflix Animation Studios, partnering closely with creative leadership to translate story goals into clear technical direction. Own the production’s technical strategy, guide associate technical supervisors and TDs, and act as the escalation point for complex cross-departmental issues. •Own and set the production’s technical strategy aligned to creative goals, while evolving pipelines, tools, and workflows to meet project challenges.
•Partner with director and creative leadership to understand standards and review processes, turning creative goals and story needs into technical direction.
•Guide associate technical supervisors and TDs so teams solve the right problems at the right time, and serve as the main escalation point for complex cross-departmental issues.
•Drive pipeline improvements and ensure development resources and timing support risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and schedule commitments.
•Lead talent and performance management for associate technical supervisors and TDs, including mentoring, training needs, performance feedback, and support for hiring and culture building.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of supervisory experience on large-scale animated features, animated TV series, and/or VFX feature films, with proven proficiency through past work or portfolio.
•Experience implementing technical solutions to creative problems, including advanced knowledge of rendering workflows and pipeline development across a full animation pipeline.
•Strong technical skills, including Python or scripting, plus deep knowledge of DCC tools such as Maya, Houdini, Mari, and Nuke.
•Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), with strong collaboration and stakeholder management.
•Ability to organize and prioritize work across multiple areas with strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving in fast and quality-focused production cycles.
