Job Summary

Join WSP’s expanding Civil & Structural Engineering team for Energy Transmission & Distribution projects. You’ll deliver civil and structural design from feasibility through detailed design and construction support, collaborating in multidisciplinary teams. Depending on level, you may provide design leadership, manage design activities, produce and review calculations and drawings, ensure compliance with Safety in Design and client standards, and support planning, risk management, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver civil and structural engineering design services across major Energy T&D projects, including feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
•Design reinforced concrete foundations, structural steelwork, buildings, retaining structures, drainage systems, and site infrastructure; support/lead design for substations and HVDC converter stations.
•Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and produce/review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
•Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and Safety in Design principles.
•Support project planning, risk management, programme delivery, client relationships, business development, and (at higher levels) lead teams and provide technical governance/design assurance.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
•Strong understanding of civil and/or structural engineering principles.
•Experience (or desire to develop) in the Energy, Power, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
•Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
•For Principal Engineer/Associate/Associate Director levels: Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IStructE or actively progressing towards chartership.
