Provide strategic guidance to managers on complex team member relations matters across GitLab’s global, all-remote organization. Lead sensitive investigations end-to-end, coach leaders on workplace issues (including performance management), and partner with Legal and People Business Partners to develop scalable policies and proactive programs. Serve as a subject matter expert, analyze case trends, and support global governance by interpreting employment laws and regulations across jurisdictions.

•Lead sensitive investigations end-to-end: interview team members, analyze internal system information, write investigation reports, and recommend next steps.
•Coach and advise leaders at all levels on complex team member relations matters, including performance management, to reduce business and company risk.
•Build proactive programs to prevent workplace concerns before they escalate.
•Partner with Legal and People Business Partners to review team member relations cases and align on an appropriate approach.
•Shape and review team member relations policies and procedures at scale, analyze case trends, and provide actionable insights to inform scalable programs and risk-reduction strategies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 126,400 - 213,600 annually

•Demonstrate working knowledge of United States employment law relevant to team member relations, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and EEOC processes.
•Have experience in a distributed, multi-jurisdiction, or global organization adapting guidance to different regulatory and cultural contexts.
•Show a track record of influencing change without direct authority by building support with cross-functional partners and senior leaders.
•Use clear written and verbal communication skills to produce thorough, defensible investigation reports; exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and empathy.
