Job Summary

Serve as a technical instructor and expert for new PLC/NPI semiconductor equipment, embedded in the Santa Clara business unit. You’ll learn incoming tools, develop and update course materials, and deliver classroom and structured factory OJT training. As production ramps, you’ll help train volume instructors and lead multiple training projects, while troubleshooting and ensuring course objectives and safety requirements are met. Expect up to 40% domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Assess semiconductor equipment training needs by collecting information from experts, maintaining product technical knowledge, and preparing and presenting defined product courses.
•Coordinate with product groups for current product information, manage multiple training projects, and disseminate updates to training and business unit staff.
•Develop and revise NPI hardware training materials (student guides, course structures) using PowerPoint/Word and the instructional system design process.
•Deliver technical training in-house and at customer sites, manage classroom/lab activities, and coach/lead other instructors; serve as a mentor to less senior instructors.
•Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for repairs, ensure preventive maintenance requirements and safety retrofits are completed, and evaluate training effectiveness to target job applications.

Salary: USD 84,000 - 115,500 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, education, or training, plus 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience (installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair).
•If no Bachelor’s degree, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience plus 2 years of experience in education/performance-based training or external customer training/presentation delivery (for FKA instructional Developer).
•Desirable: nationally recognized certification in “Instructional Design” OR 2 years of curriculum development and/or instructional design experience.
•Communication, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; resourceful and able to work independently when needed.
•Proficiency with semiconductor equipment operations (including preventive/corrective maintenance, alignments, calibrations, and system-level troubleshooting) and Microsoft Office skills.
