Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on required routes while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas; follow loading crew signals and assist with loading/unloading.
  • •Maintain delivery paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and deliver documentation to the shipping office when the route is complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the weight of the vehicle.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical (trucks driven over 10k lbs).
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, remain focused in a busy environment, and be able to travel frequently.
