Job Summary

Operate heavy asphalt roller equipment to spread, smooth, level, and compact asphalt and gravel to job specifications. Control and guide the machine using levers, pedals, handwheels, and throttle, performing overlapping passes and adjusting speed/direction to avoid ridges. Complete daily safety assignments and follow MSHA/OSHA/DOT and site safety procedures, supporting paving crew tasks as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate machines to spread, smooth, level, and compact asphalt and gravel to job specifications.
•Drive heavy roller equipment to compact earth fill, subgrade, streets, and runways.
•Control and guide the machine by moving levers, depressing pedals, turning handwheels, and pushing throttle.
•Make successive overlapping passes and determine speed/direction based on material compressibility under changing temperatures.
•Perform additional duties associated with paving crews as part of a team.
•Ensure finished surface meets customer requirements.

Key Requirements

•Submit to a drug screen, criminal background check, and DOT physical.
•Follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply.
•Conduct daily safety assignments including area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, and TRACK.
•Move levers, depress pedals, turn handwheels, and use throttle controls to operate and guide the machine.
•High school diploma or GED equivalent (one year experience preferred).
