Job Summary

Provide integrated marine engineering and logistics support for Coast Guard readiness at the Surface Forces Logistics Center in Norfolk. Coordinate across product lines on technical issues, SOPs, and fleet maintenance. Support current ship maintenance work through specifications and government cost estimates, develop and maintain work item templates, and review technical documents for discrepancies. Also develop MECPL processes and provide technical support to field units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide responsive, integrated engineering and logistics services to meet Coast Guard readiness requirements.
•Coordinate with other Product Lines on technical issues, fleet maintenance, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Assist in developing specifications and government cost estimates for maintenance, modification, and repair work requests; develop and maintain RWIs and SWITs.
•Develop specifications and estimates for all MECPL RWI’s and review specifications/cost estimates for technical and format discrepancies.
•Develop and maintain dockside/dry dock availability specifications and provide technical support to field units; develop and document MECPL processes.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: USD 140,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Be a US Citizen able to pass a background check including credit.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Ocean, or Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture from an ABET-accredited school.
•5+ years of marine field experience with practical, in-depth knowledge of shipboard systems, equipment, and materials (preferably with the Coast Guard).
•3+ years of technical writing experience related to marine vessel maintenance and alterations (preferably Coast Guard).
•Knowledge of naval architecture and marine engineering, including dry docking, dock and sea trials, and non-destructive testing; plus knowledge of shipbuilding/repair principles for HM&E systems.
