Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare and maintain astronomy equipment, observatories, and facilities to ensure they are operational and guest-ready.
  • •Operate manual and computerized telescopes, binoculars, and optical instruments, including telescope viewing and astrophotography experiences.
  • •Conduct guest safety briefings and guide guests during astronomy activities while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
  • •Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, deep maintenance, software updates, and keep accurate maintenance and inventory records.
  • •Support programme planning, logistics, and coordination with Astronomy Guides and operations teams for schedules, equipment needs, and event readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Astronomy, Physics, Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
  • •Minimum 2 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, adventure tourism, or guest experience operations.
  • •Minimum 2 years of practical experience operating astronomy and optical equipment, including large-aperture systems.
  • •Experience performing routine and advanced maintenance, including telescope alignment, mirror collimation, and calibration.
  • •Wilderness First Aid or an internationally recognized First Aid certification.
