Job Summary

Build and harden Unity’s embedded Android support for production vehicles, bringing the real-time 3D runtime to Android/AOSP and Android Automotive OS. You’ll integrate Unity into native Android apps via Unity as a Library and Unity Render Service, implement graphics/windowing for multi-screen HMI experiences, and optimize performance for resource-constrained automotive SoCs. Partner directly with automotive OEMs, diagnose issues, and raise engineering quality through design discussions, code reviews, and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities

•Own how Unity runs on Android in the vehicle, extending and hardening platform support across Android/AOSP and Android Automotive OS.
•Integrate Unity into native Android apps (Unity as a Library / Unity Render Service) and build the graphics/windowing layer for multi-screen, multi-touch digital cockpits and HMIs.
•Profile and optimize runtime performance, memory, startup/load time, and iteration speed on resource-constrained automotive SoCs.
•Serve as a technical point of contact for automotive OEMs, investigating issues and removing performance bottlenecks to support production success.
•Raise the engineering bar through design discussions, code reviews, and automated testing on a small senior team.

Key Requirements

•Proficiency in C/C++/C# and experience building scalable, multithreaded systems on Linux/Android.
•Hands-on Android/AOSP development across app and platform layers, including HALs (AIDL), Android build system (Soong/Blueprint), and framework/lifecycle.
•Working knowledge of Vulkan and OpenGL ES, plus the Android graphics/compositing stack (SurfaceFlinger, HWComposer, Gralloc, EGL) for real-time 3D and UI rendering.
•Experience profiling and optimizing performance for resource-constrained hardware (CPU/GPU/IO tooling).
•Ability to work directly with customers on technical issues with business-level English.
