Job Summary

Lead the build, design, administration, automation, and operational support of mission-critical database platforms for enterprise environments. Own PostgreSQL and Cassandra operations, including upgrades, patching, migrations, backup/recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security/governance compliance. Improve performance, high availability, and disaster recovery, while driving database modernization, cloud adoption, and Infrastructure as Code automation with CI/CD and observability.

Key Responsibilities

•Build, administer, maintain, and support enterprise PostgreSQL and Cassandra database environments.
•Perform installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, and configuration management; manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
•Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity; troubleshoot incidents and performance issues.
•Analyze and optimize performance via query tuning, indexing, and configuration improvements; implement high-availability, replication, clustering, and failover.
•Develop database automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions; support CI/CD for database deployments/schema changes and establish observability practices.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience managing PostgreSQL databases in large-scale production environments, including replication, clustering, backup/recovery, and high availability.
•Hands-on experience administering and supporting Apache Cassandra environments, including architecture, data modeling, partitioning, replication, and consistency.
•Strong SQL and query optimization skills, plus knowledge of backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
•Experience with automation and scripting for database administration using Python, Shell, or PowerShell, and familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code/DevOps practices.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
