Job Summary

Support the venue’s sustainability program by sorting event waste to maximize landfill diversion and educating both fans and staff. Work with the Venue Sustainability Manager to run onboarding/training, manage recycling, composting, donations, and landfill streams, and maintain a clean sorting area. This seasonal, part-time role includes varied weekday and weekend hours based on the show schedule at Blossom Music Center.

Key Responsibilities

•Participate in Venue Sustainability Crew onboarding and training.
•Assist with mid- and post-show waste sorting for recycling, composting, donations, and landfill materials.
•Ensure all waste is sorted and diverted by working show and non-show days across weekdays and weekends.
•Support educational efforts for venue crew members and fans alongside the Venue Sustainability Manager and Supervisor.
•Maintain a clean sorting area and support post-show pick after each event; may include scheduled shifts on days after shows.

Key Requirements

•Foundational understanding of recycling, composting, and material circularity, with willingness to learn.
•Ability to work show days and non-show days, including weekdays and weekends, based on event schedules.
•Show days require substantial physical activity (walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting/carrying 50+ lbs) and time spent sorting materials.
•Ability to work outside in variable weather and be around unpleasant odors.
•Positive attitude and ability to work well with other departments while executing sustainability programs.
