Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, implement, and continuously improve a risk-based logistics security framework for high-value/high-risk shipments.
  • •Define security requirements for carriers and logistics providers (cargo tracking, route compliance, approved stops, geofencing, chain of custody, tamper detection, escalation/escort/recovery).
  • •Embed logistics security requirements into carrier agreements, statements of work, operating procedures, and supplier performance expectations.
  • •Evaluate and manage vendor reviews, pilots, and implementations for tracking/monitoring/recovery solutions and device performance.
  • •Establish monitoring, escalation, and recovery workflows; conduct risk assessments; measure program effectiveness using outcome-based metrics; support incident response and executive briefings.

Key Requirements

  • •Serve as a subject matter expert for high-value logistics security controls across transportation lanes, carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
  • •Develop and maintain a risk-based logistics security framework covering shipment value, route risk, geography, modality, dwell time, handoffs, theft history, and local recovery capability.
  • •Define carrier and logistics-provider baseline and enhanced requirements, including cargo-level tracking, route compliance, approved stops, geofencing, chain of custody, tamper detection, monitoring, escalation, escorting, and recovery expectations.
  • •Experience implementing or overseeing shipment security controls (e.g., cargo tracking, telematics, geofencing, route management, approved stops, escorts, smart seals, and incident escalation) and managing carrier/vendor relationships.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (or master’s/advanced education plus preferred certifications such as TAPA FSR/TSR, CPP, PSP, CTPAT, ASIS, or supply chain risk/logistics/security certifications).
