Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities, including site/facility layout, geotechnical and hydrologic analyses, and design drawings/specifications.
  • •Manage and execute mine waste geotechnical projects: field investigations, laboratory testing programs, data interpretation, and geotechnical analysis.
  • •Scope, direct, and review complex analyses (soil mechanics, stability, seepage, thermal modeling, deposition modeling, and runout analyses).
  • •Independently manage projects per approved scopes, delivering reports on time and within budget subject to senior review.
  • •Provide client support and business development, work with multi-disciplinary teams, support proposals, and manage the work of junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering (or closely related).
  • •7 to 10 years of relevant post-education engineering and geotechnical design experience.
  • •Engineer license required.
  • •Experience with tailings management and heap leach facility design in the mining industry, including software package experience.
  • •Strong soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering knowledge, with client liaison and business development experience.
