Job Summary

Lead mechanical engineering efforts within AECOM’s Water Team in Scotland, delivering feasibility and detailed design for water and wastewater projects. Act as Mechanical Lead on WwTW/WTW and infrastructure projects, manage design reviews, liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor mechanical graduates and engineers in a hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support for water projects
•Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES data sheets, valve schedules and P&IDs
•Liaise with water and other discipline teams nationwide
•Visit sites to carry out surveys and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers
•Act as Mechanical Lead on projects and help deliver mechanical scope to programme and budget

Key Requirements

•A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
•Be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution, such as IMechE
•A proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision
•Hands-on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects
•Experience leading or mentoring engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
