Key Responsibilities

  • •Procure goods and services within the UK and from overseas suppliers, coordinating sourcing by phone and face-to-face as needed.
  • •Update SAP MM purchasing data (source lists, info records, material master MRP settings) and maintain supplier material-planning information.
  • •Proactively manage suppliers, parts, orders, invoices, deliveries, shortages, quality issues, credits, performance, forecasts, and shipping tasks as directed by the purchasing manager.
  • •Raise and own daily MRP-driven purchase orders and manage end-to-end delivery using MRP and other methods, leading daily MRP completion when required.
  • •Coordinate shipping/import compliance and resolve quality issues with suppliers and the quality team; assist with procurement reporting and lead-time tracking improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years of experience in manufacturing buying/procurement of mechanical components.
  • •Experience with ordering, expediting, planning/scheduling, and inventory control in a fast-moving production environment.
  • •Proven supplier management, cost control, and negotiation experience, with sourcing from the far-east advantageous.
  • •Ability to build effective relationships across the organization and develop vendors to improve OTD, cost, and supply-chain security.
  • •Ability to identify supply-chain risk and use tools to de-risk and meet customer schedules and demands.
