Location: Santa Clara
Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Hardware, Embedded & Systems Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the end-to-end architecture of high-precision motion stages and mechatronic subsystems, setting technical direction for stage performance.
  • •Complete complex precision-stage mechanical and mechatronic subsystem definitions, treating mechanics and controls as a co-designed system.
  • •Define precision stage control system architecture (servo loop topology, loop partitioning, feedforward, sensor/actuator selection) and establish quantitative performance targets and error budgets.
  • •Develop dynamic models and integrate stage mechanics with control design, including vibration isolation, disturbance rejection, and multi-axis servo loop tuning/validation.
  • •Lead design analysis, prototyping or qualification of subsystems, troubleshoot difficult engineering problems, coordinate supplier and cross-functional real-time control implementation, and support reliability/safety compliance and system integration.
Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls with 10–15+ years of experience (MS preferred).
  • •Demonstrated system engineering knowledge and expertise in control theory, servo/feedback control design, and multi-axis motion control for high-precision motion stages and subsystems.
  • •Hands-on experience with mechatronic co-design, including system identification, dynamic modeling, control-loop tuning, feedforward design, and active vibration isolation/damping for nanometer-class positioning.
  • •Experience with motion control hardware and real-time control implementation, including motion controllers, FPGA/DSP-based systems, drives/amplifiers, and position feedback/metrology sensors.
  • •Knowledge of relevant safety standards (SEMI S2/S8/S14, NFPA 79, F47, CE, EMI/EMC) and 3D/2D CAD tools (e.g., Inventor, Siemens NX Unigraphics, AutoCAD).
