Job Summary

Support senior project inspectors within the Construction Management team by examining and interpreting construction plans, schedules, and quantities. Verify work is performed safely and according to project plans and specifications while performing a range of standardized and non-standardized tests. Compile, analyze, compute, edit, and process field data, maintain accurate records, and contribute to ethical, responsible execution of project requirements for Asheville-area projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Examine and interpret construction plans, schedules, and quantities.
•Support senior project inspectors across construction inspection, surveying, and material sampling/testing.
•Verify work is performed safely and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
•Perform standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments, and compile/analyze/compute/edit/process field data.
•Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•0-2 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience, or an equivalent education/training/experience combination; Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible without experience.
•Ability to attain specified NCDOT construction inspection/testing certifications within 90 days +/- (or as class scheduling allows).
•Ability to keep accurate records, compute field data, and read/interpret construction plans.
•Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools (software, spreadsheets, technology), plus the physical ability to perform field testing/inspection activities.
