Build Wise’s core product experiences from Seoul, helping customers live, travel, and work without borders. You’ll develop self-serve solutions, automate operational resolution, and create robust financial infrastructure for international transactions. Partner across product, analytics, design, and operations to deliver iterative improvements, manage technical debt, and architect services that scale across the APAC region—while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop Wise products from South Korea, helping challenge local banking status quo and improve the customer experience for Korean users.
•Work on the core flow by building self-serve solutions, automating resolution, and creating tooling for Operations.
•Build financial infrastructure to deliver the same rapid and simple experience for international transactions.
•Create clear, helpful interfaces while maintaining consistency, maintainability, performance, and an understanding of customer problems.
•Lead medium to large engineering projects, architect services for iterative delivery and scaling, and mentor junior/mid-level developers.

Key Requirements

•Solid Java 17 experience and knowledge of the Spring framework.
•Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization and schema design.
•Strong product mindset with data-driven decision-making to address customer pain points.
•Experience leading the design and development of complex engineering solutions with business impact.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in English and Korean.
