Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced food processing plant across routine maintenance and emergency response. Use SAP to manage work orders and read technical documents (blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals) to diagnose complex issues. Perform preventive maintenance, install and maintain systems (mechanical equipment, piping, electrical controls), and fabricate replacement parts while following LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and GMP safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Review work orders, assess tools/equipment/parts/time, use SAP to create work orders, and respond quickly to emergency calls.
•Maintain and repair mechanical equipment by monitoring for malfunctions, disassembling/troubleshooting, replacing/reassembling parts, and testing functionality.
•Install and maintain systems including mechanical equipment and piping plus electrical controls, ensuring manufacturer specs and local safety regulations are met.
•Fabricate replacement parts as needed using welding, cutting, and sheet metal work; perform preventive maintenance on plant mechanical systems.
•Follow company safety protocols including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED plus 1+ years of related experience/training in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance, or 4 years direct experience in the same environment.
•Vocational/technical diploma or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school (preferred).
•Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with team personnel and outside contractors.
•Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
•Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including reading and executing work orders and translating equipment manuals.
