Job Summary

Operate the asphalt paver/screed to spread and level asphalt for highways, roadways, parking lots, and driveways. Make adjustments to achieve proper depth, grade, and finish, and coordinate with equipment operators for alignment and material movement. Support the paving crew with tasks like shoveling/raking and training others on equipment operations. Follow OSHA/MSHA safety procedures, complete pre/post inspections, and perform minor equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the asphalt paver and screed, using controls to achieve proper depth, grade, and finish via screed extensions.
•Signal construction equipment operators to support alignment and movement of materials.
•Assist the paving crew with duties such as shoveling, raking, and wheelbarrow use.
•Partner with crew members to apply asphalt per specifications and meet daily schedule/estimated targets.
•Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations; complete daily pre/post inspections and perform minor equipment servicing/maintenance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED is preferred.
•1–2 years of asphalt experience is required.
•Previous knowledge of heavy equipment is preferred.

•Ability to operate equipment safely and follow verbal and written instructions.
