Job Summary

Maintain and operate the engineering plant aboard ConocoPhillips’ Polar Tankers fleet under the Chief Engineer and 1st Assistant Engineer. You’ll perform routine maintenance on diesel-powered generators, electric motors, air compressors, purifiers, and lube oil systems, plus handle electrical work, insulation resistance testing, and monthly lube oil sampling. The role is safety-sensitive, requires participation in drills and emergencies, and includes independent work, rounds, and engine control room monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

•Work under the direction of the Chief Engineer and 1st Assistant Engineer to maintain and operate the ship’s engineering plant safely and efficiently.
•Perform routine maintenance on diesel-powered generators, electric motors, air compressors, L.O. purifiers, and main/stern tube lube oil systems.
•Complete all electrical work aboard the ship.
•Test and record insulation resistance using megger testing, and collect monthly lube oil samples from machinery.
•Participate in drills and emergencies, assist with enforcement of rules/procedures/regulations/pollution prevention, and provide on-call emergency support.

•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer.
•Currently hold, or have the ability to obtain, a U.S. Passport.

•Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with required endorsements including Officer in Charge Of An Engineering Watch (OICEW), Able Seafarer – Engine, and Third Assistant Engineer – Motor.
•Be willing and able to perform required physical and safety-related duties, including working away from home for periods exceeding two months.
