Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the Hybrid Navy Software System Design workstream, ensuring solutions align with the Product Owner’s vision and capability requirements.
  • •Provide technical leadership by defining system requirements and high-level software designs and guiding development teams to deliver secure, reliable, certifiable solutions.
  • •Lead the development and documentation of high-level system and software designs, making and documenting key technical and architectural decisions.
  • •Produce and maintain software design artefacts including requirements analysis, system specifications, and internal/external interface definitions.
  • •Identify and manage technical risks while ensuring requirements are appropriately validated, approved, and delivered for successful project outcomes.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 68,500

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in systems engineering from an engineering or defence related industry.
  • •Proven knowledge of software engineering approaches, processes, procedures, and working knowledge of Agile practices.
  • •Significant breadth and diversity of software engineering experience on projects or products, including software engineering in a systems context.
  • •Understanding of business processes and the business environment, with ability to provide specialist technical advice and guidance.
  • •Baseline Personnel Security Standard achievement (and, for higher roles, National Security Vetting may require 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency depending on vetting level).
