Key Responsibilities

  • •Work across all phases of fire protection project design and delivery, from concept through to construction and commissioning.
  • •Design and implement fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, and fire detection/evacuation solutions.
  • •Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines to develop integrated fire protection solutions for major clients.
  • •Ensure fire protection designs meet the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and client standards and guidelines.
  • •Use expertise in wet and dry fire protection systems to mentor junior engineers and maintain technical excellence across projects.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer in an engineering consultancy, or extensive design experience with a contractor.
  • •Experience in dry fire is highly regarded.
  • •Relevant degree and professional registrations (or eligibility), including RPEQ.
  • •Knowledge of fire suppression and firefighting systems design, including hydrants, hose reels, portable fire equipment, and fire water supply infrastructure.
  • •Knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems design, including emergency warning/intercom systems and high-level networking infrastructure.
