Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and cost plans for mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, fire control, controls, and specialty systems.
  • •Develop Class D, C, B, and A estimates using conceptual information, design drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, and market intelligence.
  • •Analyze drawings, tender documents, construction methodologies, and pricing inputs to identify scope, risks, opportunities, and key cost drivers.
  • •Validate subcontractor, supplier, vendor, and historical cost data to improve estimate quality and commercial confidence.
  • •Support feasibility studies, budget development, value engineering, design-to-budget initiatives, and cost reconciliation across design stages.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrable lead experience in mechanical construction estimating, quantity surveying, or cost consulting.
  • •Degree, diploma, or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • •Experience estimating building, institutional, commercial, healthcare, transportation, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • •Strong knowledge of mechanical construction methods, materials, labour productivity, market pricing, and cost planning practices.
  • •Professional designation such as PQS, CEC, MRICS, or an equivalent credential.
