Conduct state-mandated vehicle safety inspections using approved tools and procedures, ensuring vehicles meet CarMax quality standards prior to delivery. Explain inspection results clearly to customers, maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, and accurately document findings for compliance. Work with internal teams to complete inspections on time while following CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct state-mandated vehicle safety inspections using approved tools and procedures.
•Verify vehicles meet CarMax Quality Standards before delivery.
•Explain inspection results clearly to deliver exceptional customer service.
•Maintain and calibrate specialized inspection equipment for accuracy.
•Follow EH&S requirements and document inspection results accurately for compliance and transparency.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 24.3 - 42.6 hourly

Key Requirements

•Automotive trade school degree (2 years) or minimum 2 years of hands-on automotive experience.
•Valid state inspection certification as required by local regulations.
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately for compliance.
•Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise inspections.
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in indoor/outdoor environments, including inclement weather.
