Key Responsibilities

  • •Own new hardware evaluation and enablement by leading evaluation of new AWS/Azure/GCP instance types using representative benchmark and evaluation solutions.
  • •Set performance strategy and architecture by shaping the technical roadmap, measurement methodology, and translating benchmark results into rollout/adoption recommendations.
  • •Lead cross-functional and CSP partnerships across engineering and Finance to qualify new hardware and influence future cloud-instance designs.
  • •Characterize hardware performance by analyzing CPU microarchitecture and related bottlenecks and driving resolution for workload-specific performance issues.
  • •Automate day-zero hardware readiness by building performance-validation workflows and per-provider/per-instance scorecards to qualify and price new silicon near GA.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 264,000 - 379,500 annually

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of experience in performance engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering with principal-level technical leadership.
  • •Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure performance across at least one major CSP (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including instance types, pricing models, and capacity constraints.
  • •Strong hardware/systems fundamentals: CPU microarchitecture, memory bandwidth, and I/O subsystems, using profiling tools (e.g., PMU counters) to root-cause bottlenecks.
  • •Experience building or operating large-scale benchmarking systems (e.g., TPC-DS-style workloads) and turning results into actionable pricing/rollout decisions.
  • •Ability to build quantitative models connecting technical performance metrics to business outcomes and lead cross-functional initiatives with external hardware/cloud partners.
