Job Summary

Lead scale-up and qualification of new manufacturing processes and equipment for high-volume solar module production, partnering cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, EHS, and quality. Drive complex equipment/process changeovers through CMS stage-gate, troubleshoot to improve safety, throughput, yield, and performance, and use structured problem-solving and statistical methods (DOE/SPC) to implement continuous improvements. Build process control visualizations and documentation using tools such as SQL, Python, JMP, and Power-BI.

•Develop, continually improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes to achieve high performance cost-effectively.
•Lead scale-up and qualification of new processes and equipment from R&D through pilot and 24x7 high-volume manufacturing.
•Initiate and lead complex equipment or process changes using the CMS stage-gate process and replicate results globally.
•Conduct in-depth investigations into process issues and implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvements.
•Evaluate new equipment proposals, review experiment proposals and results, lead task forces/project teams, and manage technical staff.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 112,300 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in an engineering discipline or physical science field (or equivalent).
•More than 8 years of process engineering and/or R&D experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in areas such as thin-film deposition, thermal processing, wet coatings, automation, laser processing, or process/device integration.
•Fluent with statistical analysis methods and structured problem-solving; able to analyze large datasets using tools such as JMP, SAS, or Minitab.
•Experience in photovoltaics manufacturing flow or technology development across thin film vacuum deposition, glass thermo-mechanical processing, module packaging, and related semiconductor/electrical integration.
•Demonstrated ability to lead small technical teams and manage performance through goal-setting and technical leadership.
