Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead or coordinate ecological surveys in specialization areas, and strengthen quality by reviewing field data, mapping inputs, background research, analysis tables, and technical deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in ecology, biology, environmental science, environmental studies, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
  • •Typically 2 to 5 years of relevant ecological consulting, environmental assessment, government, conservation authority, academic, research, or applied field biology experience (or equivalent combinations).
  • •Strong technical writing and scientific reasoning to evaluate evidence, identify uncertainty, and document assumptions and limitations.
  • •Experience preparing or contributing to ecological reports, impact studies, natural heritage assessments, environmental assessment documents, monitoring reports, or permitting support materials.
  • •Working knowledge of Ontario ecology and natural heritage systems, environmental policy, and applicable legislation, including field data and desktop sources (GIS or mapping products, agency databases).
