Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead ECS architecture definition and trade studies (e.g., vapor vs. air cycle; passive/ram-air) to meet vehicle constraints.
  • •Design and analyze air inlets/scoops/ducting networks and ram-air cooling circuits across flight envelopes.
  • •Perform first-principles thermodynamic and heat transfer hand calculations with 1D thermal/fluid network modeling to size components and systems.
  • •Source components, author ECS hardware SOWs/specifications, and manage external suppliers to execute on schedules.
  • •Define and execute qualification/verification test plans and use flight-test thermal/fluid data to troubleshoot, investigate root causes, and implement rapid design changes.

Key Requirements

  • •8 to 15 years of direct experience in aerospace Environmental Control System and vehicle thermal/fluid system development.

  • •Deep mastery of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer as applied to aircraft or defense systems.
  • •Experience with 1D system modeling (e.g., Amesim, Flowmaster, or Python/MATLAB fluid networks) and sizing systems from inlets to cooling subsystems.
