Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement embedded firmware and FPGA solutions for medium-voltage solid state transformer systems, including real-time control algorithms, protection functions, and state machines.
  • •Develop and optimize high-speed digital control functions for medium-voltage power converters and grid-interactive power electronics.
  • •Collaborate with global teams to develop, test, and release firmware and FPGA functionality across Eaton’s advanced power electronics portfolio.
  • •Analyze power system architectures and requirements to deliver scalable, robust solutions meeting performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety objectives.
  • •Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting in high-voltage/high-power lab environments and support verification/validation plans using HIL, simulation, and automated test frameworks; mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • •Solid experience developing embedded systems and real-time control firmware with state-machine design.
  • •Strong FPGA experience using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog, and integrating firmware and FPGA in complex control architectures.
  • •Proficiency in C++ for real-time embedded systems and strong understanding of power electronics and closed-loop control.
  • •Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and debugging hardware-software interactions, plus tools/workflows such as Git, Jira, and CI/CD.
