Job Summary

Design and oversee overhead line circuits (11kV to 400kV) for UK and international projects, leading a team of engineers on transmission tower and foundation design. Utilize PLS Tower, PLS CADD, and PLS POLE to create compliant designs, manage project delivery, and coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to meet timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare, review, and approve transmission line tower and foundation designs, including associated documents and accessories.
•Design transmission towers and foundations per relevant codes and standards, optimizing weight and performance for tenders.
•Perform sag-tension calculations and provide approximate tower weights for tender stage.
•Design using PLS Tower, PLS CADD, and PLS Pole; create engineering design calculations and documentation; support material bill of quantity schedules.
•Attend site meetings (virtual) and provide ongoing design drawing changes; coordinate with internal/external teams and review designs for technical compliance.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience in the design of UK Overhead Line Circuits (Towers and/or Poles) at voltages up to 400kV.
•Bachelor’s in civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering with 15+ years’ experience; UK projects and standards experience is an added advantage.
•Experience in leading and mentoring teams, independently managing projects, delivering complex designs, and reviewing/approving designs to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
•Knowledge of engineering standards and ability to design with PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, and PLS POLE or similar tools.
•Ability to design using the specified software and provide engineering calculations and documentation for tender and construction.
