Key Responsibilities

  • •Own PlanetScale’s video program across customer stories, product launches, events, executive content, YouTube, shorts, and other formats.
  • •Set the creative bar for video across story, pacing, visuals, sound, and detail; ensure each piece feels sharp and intentional.
  • •Find narrative in technical subject matter and shape raw material into videos people want to watch.
  • •Film on location and manage hands-on production needs including camera, lighting, audio, direction, and practical details.
  • •Edit and run post-production end-to-end (assembly through delivery), including pacing, sound design, color, motion graphics, animation, and final polish, while building a lean production pipeline and meeting deadlines.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •A strong portfolio showing range across polished narrative work, quick-turn edits, social cuts, and/or short-form video.
  • •Demonstrated experience filming, directing, and editing projects end to end as an individual contributor.
  • •Strong editing skills in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or equivalent.
  • •Experience shooting on location, including interviews, handling your own lighting and audio.
  • •Motion graphics and animation ability, with judgment for when to use those tools.
