Job Summary

Develop and maintain automation and electrical control systems for a manufacturing plant. Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives to optimize production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve troubleshooting. Lead automation projects end-to-end with minimal supervision, mentor less experienced electricians, and create technology roadmaps by standardizing software and hardware architectures. Ensure automation infrastructure is secure, backed up, and compliant with safety and USDA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

•Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drive systems to optimize production efficiency.
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems to keep operations running.
•Mentor less experienced floor electricians and plan/execute automation projects end-to-end with minimal supervision.
•Continuously identify production process improvements to minimize downtime and streamline troubleshooting.
•Develop and standardize software and hardware architectures for automation projects and present a technology roadmap.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of controls engineering experience (or equivalent education and experience).
•Industrial manufacturing experience.
•Experience troubleshooting and programming Rockwell PLCs (RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000) and Studio 500, plus Rockwell HMI (FactoryTalk Studio ME and SE), Powerflex drives, Kenetix servo drives, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Connected Components Workbench.
•Experience troubleshooting hardwired systems and print reading (US and European style prints).
•Comfort working with low (24v DC) to high (4160v AC) voltages.
