Key Responsibilities

  • •Work in Lifting Operations, supporting workshop facilities or afloat areas for repair and manufacture for Defence and other customers.
  • •Safely deliver planned and reactive maintenance on lifting-related equipment while adhering to KPI criteria and the working time directive.
  • •Prepare lifting plans as required by the Team Leader and provide technical advice and support for lifting to clients as required.
  • •Confirm compliance to policies, procedures, and standard operating practices, recommending actions for continuous improvement.
  • •Ensure equipment and plant are in test/examination date and complete administrative tasks such as risk assessments, pre-use check sheets, and standard/complex lift plans.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 39,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Successfully completed an Appointed Person (AP) training course and have practical and theoretical knowledge of lifting operations.
  • •Knowledge of LOLER 1998, PUWER 1998, and BS7121 Part 1 and 3, with good Health and Safety procedural understanding.
  • •Good understanding of SSOW and ability to apply relevant working practices for safe lifting.
  • •Hold both a recognised Appointed Person and Slinging qualification (Blue card / CPCS / NPORS) or have an NVQ 5/6 in this area.
  • •Able to safely and professionally deliver planned and reactive maintenance within KPI criteria and adhere to the working time directive.
