Job Summary

Lead Strategic Energy Management for Canadian Solid Wood Operations, evolving and implementing the organization’s energy plan through an established performance-contract partnership with BC Hydro. Coordinate facility energy audits and benchmarking, track and report energy usage and CAPEX projects, and identify energy conservation initiatives and cost-saving projects. Liaise with BC Hydro and FortisBC, support GHG reporting, advance sustainability initiatives, and travel regularly to operating facilities across BC and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate facility energy audits and benchmarking, and track energy usage for monthly KPI reports.
•Scope and track CAPEX projects and ensure energy cost-saving projects are implemented.
•Identify and evaluate energy conservation initiatives and set achievable targets for energy management programs.
•Liaise with BC Hydro and FortisBC on programs and incentives and represent Canfor at industry group meetings.
•Ensure BC Hydro performance contract deliverables are met, support GHG reporting, and advance sustainability initiatives.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: 90,300 - 129,000

Key Requirements

•Registered professional Engineer (P.Eng) or EIT with relevant experience, Certified Energy Manager, or a Master’s degree, or combination of training (electrician, power engineer, mechanical technologist).
•Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience.
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and report writing skills.
•Project management experience.
