Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design for transportation projects, power and energy facilities, and industrial/commercial developments.
  • •Plan, coordinate, and manage subsurface exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, laboratory testing, and field investigations.
  • •Prepare and oversee geotechnical deliverables such as geotechnical data reports, interpretive reports, and foundation/earthwork design recommendations.
  • •Perform designs and analyses for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability and retaining structures, settlement and ground improvement solutions, and pavement/subgrade evaluations.
  • •Provide construction-phase support (field observations, design reviews, RFIs, and troubleshooting), and mentor junior engineers while ensuring QA/QC adherence and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus (Master’s preferred).
  • •5 to 7+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • •Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Alabama (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • •Experience planning and executing subsurface investigations, including field investigations, drilling, sampling, and lab testing.
  • •Strong geotechnical analysis and design capabilities, with experience preparing technical reports and contract documents and working knowledge of industry standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, FHWA).
