Job Summary

Manage Mastercard’s Commercial and New Payment Flow databases, ensuring reliable backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high-availability configurations. Work across multiple database technologies (including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL like MongoDB/Redis), applying patching, upgrades, and optimization. Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate incidents, guide best practices to development teams, and support change/problem/incident management. Collaborate globally and mentor junior DBAs while contributing to database domain strategy.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage Mastercard’s Commercial and New Payment Flow databases, covering backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high-availability configurations.
•Lead database work across multiple technologies and provide DBA suggestions and input into database domain strategy.
•Guide Mastercard development teams on best practices and database solution direction.
•Participate in development, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support for assigned database technologies and software products.
•Proactively monitor database health, troubleshoot incidents to root cause, and communicate resolutions; mentor junior team members.

Key Requirements

•Strong experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL database technologies as a DBA.
•Experience configuring, patching, upgrading, and optimizing database software and related products.
•Strong knowledge of security, backup/recovery, architecture, networking, and administration for database disciplines.
•Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and driving root-cause remediation for database issues escalated by business teams and internal monitoring.
•Ability to follow change management, problem management, and incident management processes and procedures, with strong communication skills.
