Job Summary

Develop and deliver grid connection services projects across utility-scale renewable energy developments and construction phases. Conduct power system studies and grid-code compliance assessments using tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E, and perform grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk and capacity/constraints analysis. Support PS&E deliverables, quality control reviews, technical specifications, and bid/proposal inputs while liaising with OEMs and clients across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

•Support delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
•Undertake detailed power system and grid-code compliance studies using PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E.
•Undertake grid connection due diligence, including grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment, and capacity/constraints assessment.
•Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates for projects.
•Prepare technical specification sections and support quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.

Key Requirements

•Proven professional experience in an Engineering Design Consultancy, an OEM, or Utility Network Planning and connections.
•Understanding of transmission and distribution planning and customer connection processes for regulated and industrial networks.
•Strong knowledge of UK technical requirements (UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28) for connecting new generators and loads (Ireland Grid Code knowledge is beneficial).
•Proficiency in PSCAD, PowerFactory, and python scripting.
•Demonstrated understanding of control and protection principles for high voltage substation equipment and related power system equipment.
