Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare quarterly tax provisions using the AETR method, including balance sheet account reconciliations, uncertain tax position quantification, and related financial statement disclosures to ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • •Review schedules provided by accounting teams, support year-end provision calculations with external tax consultants, and maintain/reconcile tax-related accounts during the close process.
  • •Prepare and review income tax returns (federal, state, provincial, and local) and support filing of compliance obligations, including coordination of tax authorities and audits.
  • •Support tax strategy and planning through special projects, tax planning analyses for non-standard transactions, and due diligence procedures for mergers and acquisitions with external advisors.
  • •Drive process improvements by evaluating AI opportunities and working with Finance AI leaders to accelerate efficiencies while maintaining accuracy and controls.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with corporate tax provision and tax compliance (federal & state/provincial) at a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
  • •Strong technical knowledge of US and Canadian income tax laws and regulations, including federal, provincial/state, and local rules.
  • •Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting rules (ASC 740) and Estimated Annual Effective Tax Rate (AETR) provision reporting experience.
  • •Technological competency for reporting and compliance, including NetSuite and income tax compliance software such as OneSource.
  • •Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs and INDEX formulas) with strong communication and project management abilities.
