Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead legal support for the most complex business risks and opportunities for Nationwide Agribusiness.
  • •Serve as primary business unit counsel by supporting associated businesses and assessing legal risks in strategic opportunities.
  • •Engage with senior leaders to coordinate vertical and horizontal risk mitigation across Agribusiness distribution, underwriting, and sponsor relations.
  • •Use business unit knowledge to identify and assess potential legal risks aligned with business objectives and direct OCLO support.
  • •Serve on the P&C Legal Leadership team, driving legal strategic priorities and leading cross-team collaboration within P&C Legal on high-importance projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctorate (JD) from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • •Minimum fifteen years of deep insurance underwriting, distribution, and regulatory experience.
  • •Be fully licensed in accordance with OCLO policy, in good standing, and comply with continuing legal education requirements in the state(s) where practicing.
  • •Excellent legal communication skills for contact with management and clients, including verbal and written communication.
  • •Strong analytical ability to interpret statutes, regulations, insurance policies, and other contracts, with decision-making to set priorities.
