Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the planning and development of the Spent Fuel Management Program for Storage Beyond Current Capacity at Barakah, including scope, schedules, milestones, and cost.
  • •Monitor and manage program performance, including technical, licensing, and schedule risks, and ensure effective mitigation.
  • •Lead licensing strategy and engagement with FANR for dry storage facilities, including preparation/oversight of licensing documentation and responses to regulatory requirements.
  • •Oversee conceptual and detailed design development for dry storage facilities and lead development and review of safety cases and safety assessments in line with regulatory and international standards.
  • •Coordinate targeted R&D activities and manage projects/initiatives related to spent fuel disposal, ensuring alignment with UAE policy and updates to program and plans with supporting directors.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant Science subject.
  • •Prefer a Master’s degree in Engineering field and/or an MBA.
  • •Minimum 7 years developing spent fuel storage systems or nuclear facility design/engineering, licensing and regulatory engagement, and project/program delivery.
  • •Experience dealing with nuclear and other regulatory agencies.
  • •Preferred 10+ years with direct experience in technology/vendor selection, design, safety case, and licensing submissions.
