Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and deliver training and educational programs for Fleet Sailors in support of SCSTC in San Diego.
  • •Provide instructor-led training for NSSMS/SSDS operators, including system capabilities/limitations and tactical employment.
  • •Support curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting operational employment of the Ship’s Self Defense System.
  • •Use SSDS-specific simulation tools to review/analyze capabilities and limitations and integrate employment using engagement doctrine.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
  • •Five (5) years of experience with the NSSMS/SSDS system as a maintenance technician or supervisor responsible for teaching system tasks to others in a journeyman level training environment.
  • •One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy training environment, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, and evaluating instruction results.
  • •Experience with SSDS training systems (e.g., BFTT, TSSS, and ATD) is a significant plus.
  • •US Citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance level (Secret required).
